Family Details: Born in 1925 in Sheridan, Indiana(Hamilton County). They were delivered by at home and Dr. Grey signed the birth certificates.
His inspection is said to have revealed 4 seperate placenta. Were the first recorded quads in the U.S. Gertrude and Oscar Stephens(Stevens) already had 7 kids and supposedly the Sheridan newspaper's headlines read "Seven Come Eleven".
John was the first to pass away, June lived the longest at 1yr 8mos.
UPDATED 10/09/2009: Bobby Large - The correct spelling of the last name was in fact Stevens and not Stephens.
The only member of that family who went by Stephens was the quads' older brother Karl, who changed his last name to Stephens later on.
I know this for fact, as I am the great great nephew of these quadruplets and was practically raised by the oldest sibling, Audres Ione Stevens Napier, until her passing in 2003.
A picture of these quads also exists somewhere, as it hung in my great-grandmother's (also a sibling of the quads) bedroom until her passing in 1990.
